What is Embroidery?

Embroidery is an artistic technique that involves stitching a design onto fabric using a computer-controlled sewing machine. The process starts with digitizing the artwork into stitches or thread. The digitizer recreates the artwork using stitches and programs the sewing machine to stitch a specific design, color, and stitch type. Embroidery is commonly used to create logo patches, clothing, caps, and hats. This art form has a long history and dates back hundreds, if not thousands, of years in many cultures around the world. It is appreciated for its visual beauty, intricacy, and ability to add a personalized touch to textiles. Whether you want to add decorative flair to your home, customize your clothing, or create unique gifts, embroidery offers a wealth of creative possibilities.

Preparing of ArtWork
Preparing the artwork for it to be used for embroidery:

1. Any high-resolute image format

Advantages

  • Adds a more prestigious look to the garment
  • Small quantities are often more cost-effective than Screen Printing
  • The embroidery will not fade or wash away
  • Certain items must be embroidered, and some items cannot be screen printed (E.g. fleece, certain moisture management garments, and synthetic garments)

Limitations

  • Biggest embroidery 350 x 350 mm
  • Size of the main embroidery
  • The minimum height for text is 5mm
  • Framing the embroidery (pockets on shirts)
  • Embroidered above pocket (approx. 20/30mm from the pocket depending on the product)
  • (Remove pocket, embroider pocket, then resew pocket) Long turn-around time for large orders
  • Fine detail will not brand correctly and in some cases limited Thread colours

The quality of embroidery will vary based on the material of the product


– Drimac / 600D / Poly Cotton smallest – 4 mm
– Any stretch material no smaller than 7 / 8 mm
– Have a look out for logos that are the same colour as the garment (it will not be visible unless requested)
– No embroidery with padding or insulation
– No embroidery over zips (inside / outside) or framing
Alternative options
– Screen printing
– The badge that will be heat sealed to the bag but not permanent
Personalised Naming
– Individual names per item will lead to longer turn-around times

  • PDF, JPG(hi-resolute), AI, CDR, and DST format
  • ( All to be for PC and NOT MAC)
